Welcome Back!

We are thrilled to welcome visitors back to Lake Tahoe after the recent Caldor Fire. Thanks to the tireless work of all the front-line heroes and agencies who worked to protect our town and forests, Tahoe South is open and thriving. It’s the perfect time to secure your wedding date!

Whether you are celebrating a milestone anniversary or maybe just your first, renewing your wedding vows is a romantic way to rekindle those feelings of “I do” from your wedding. Renew your wedding vows in South Lake Tahoe — one of the most romantic destinations for couples to share an intimate ceremony or a lavish celebration.

Who renews their vows?

There are lots of reasons that a couple might decide to renew their wedding vows. Couples who initially eloped might later decide to share their vows with friends and family, while longtime married couples may be looking for a way to share their ongoing commitment with those who are most important to them. Some couples who have been through a difficult time together use this as an opportunity to move forward in unison. Whatever the reason, wedding vow renewal has become more popular in recent years.

Your ceremony, your way

South Lake Tahoe is the best location for a destination wedding or vow renewal. From the gorgeous beach views at the Beach Retreat & Lodge at Tahoe to the stunning mountain terrain at The Ridge Tahoe, you might have a hard time narrowing down the perfect place for your ceremony. Love the water? Charter the Tahoe Queen from Lake Tahoe Cruises/Zephyr Cove Resort and take your ceremony and reception out on the water. Or check out Edgewood Tahoe. With the beauty of Lake Tahoe in the background, and surrounded by one of Tahoe’s premier golf destinations it’s hard to beat the beauty of Edgewood Tahoe, with several different ceremony options from an intimate group to a crowd.

Traditions? Make your own

The beauty of a vow renewal is that there aren’t any rules! The vows you exchange can be the same vows you shared at your original ceremony, or new and deeply personal vows you write especially for the renewal. Since they aren’t legally binding (as in your original ceremony) you can have anyone officiate your vows, from your former best man to your older kids. You can have music, flowers, a photographer, cake and yes — a wedding dress — it’s all up to you. The only real “rule” is that vow renewal ceremonies aren’t intended as an occasion to register for gifts, so don’t plan to restock your tired and broken dinnerware.

Celebrate your family and friends

Many couples wouldn’t be where they are today without a little help from friends and family. Use your vow renewal also as a time to thank those who’ve had your back as a couple over the years. Call them out in a toast, or keep it general — but let those who have paved the way for your romance share in the celebration of your day.

Renewing your vows in South Lake Tahoe gives you and your guests the opportunity to turn it into a fun getaway for everyone. Look to South Lake Tahoe for the perfect destination for your vow renewal ceremony and reception.
