A Memorable Holiday-Themed Wedding
The holiday season is upon us and everyone seems to be getting into the Christmas spirit already, so let’s talk about how you can capitalize on the beautiful holiday decor for your wedding day. Having a holiday-themed wedding can be an opportunity to save some time and money on wedding decorations, and it’s the perfect reason to add fun holiday details to your decor.
Venues will oftentimes have trees, garland, or wreaths already set up during the holiday season. So, if you plan to incorporate the venue’s holiday decor with that of your wedding, you can save on buying some of these decorations yourself.

Colors and Lights
The Christmas season brings a wonderful color palette with deep reds and evergreens and shimmering metallics. Oh, and let’s not forget about all the twinkling lights! What a simple way to add romantic and fun ambiance to your big day.

It’s All in the Details
For many people, the holiday season brings cheer, as well as warm and cozy feelings. And having a holiday-themed wedding opens the door to incorporating so many details to add even more fun to your wedding day:
Mistletoe
Try hanging mistletoe in strategic places around your reception space — especially positioning it above you and your new spouse at the head table — and watch how much fun you and your guests will have exchanging smooches.
Snowflakes
Another fun element to add to your holiday-themed wedding are snowflakes. Add them to your all-white wedding cake, display them as part of your table decorations, give guests frosted snowflake cookies, or use small snowflake frames as your guests’ escort cards—something they can take home and reuse as a photo frame after the wedding.
Hot Chocolate
Some couples might shy away from a winter wedding because certain climates bring cold weather for the winter season. But fear not! All you need is a classy hot chocolate bar to keep your guests warm and toasty. And for the adult guests, consider offering a shot of Bailey’s Irish Cream, Amaretto, Peppermint Schnapps, or Kahlua to spice up their mug of cocoa!

Christmas Photo Booth
One of the most fun takeaways from a wedding are the photos that come out of a photo booth. If you’re having a holiday-themed wedding, why not set up a photo booth (or just a station with a blank wall behind it)? And include Christmas-themed props—like santa hats and white beards, “naughty” or “nice” signs, Rudolph red noses and antlers, elf hats and ears, and corn cob pipes, carrot noses, and top hats.
Christmas Playlist
And one more way to keep your guests in a cheerful holiday mood on your wedding day is to mix in your favorite Christmas songs to play throughout your reception. If you hire a DJ, give him or her a list of songs you’d like incorporated in your playlist. If you hire a band, ask if they can learn a few of the songs from your list. Here are some ideas to get you started: Baby, It’s Cold Outside, White Christmas, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, and Silent Night.
