A certain crispness is in the air in Tahoe South and that can only mean one thing: fall is coming. And fall weddings in Tahoe are anything but ordinary, especially when you consider that you can hold your festivities indoors or out, or both.
Ambiance, Ambiance, Ambiance
For fall weddings in Tahoe South, many couples choose an outdoor ceremony, but opt for an indoor reception to keep guests out of the cool evening temperatures after the sun goes down. And as daylight wanes earlier this time of year, whether you stay outside or retreat to an indoor gathering, you’ll want the lighting at your reception to set the right mood — romantic and intimate. Trending for fall are old-fashioned bulbs, like Edisons, pendant lights, and chandeliers.

Which Hues Are Right For You?
When it comes to wedding colors, deep jewel tones and metallic accents are very big this fall. But move over silver and make room for copper (as well as yellow and rose gold). Think about shiny copper vases for your centerpieces or serving Moscow mules in copper mugs etched with your names and wedding date. Incorporating reflective metallic pieces also adds a unique glow to the overall ambiance of your reception.

The Same But Different
Once you’ve decided on your fall wedding color palette, consider how it can be carried out throughout your ceremony and reception spaces. One unique style trending this fall is an ombré bouquet, a collection of several different flowers, but all in similar shades of the same color. This technique can also be used for brilliant centerpiece arrangements and cake toppers.

To Frost, or Not to Frost?
Last year, naked cakes were all the rage. This year, almost naked cakes — also known as translucent cakes — are a big hit. Instead of zero frosting, tiers are grazed with a very thin layer of frosting, creating a translucent effect, and then it can be elegantly drizzled with caramel or chocolate. Sounds yummy, right?
