After another fun and exciting summer season in Tahoe South, we find ourselves basking in the warm sun outdoors, feeling refreshed by the cooler, crisper air. And we begin to enjoy a bit of the calm that the fall season brings to Tahoe. The aspen leaves in the Tahoe Basin begin changing colors, adding a striking golden contrast to the blue hue of Lake Tahoe and dark green pines that dot the Sierra Mountains. It’s a majestic backdrop for a beautiful fall wedding in Tahoe. Here are a few of our favorite spots in Tahoe for a fall wedding.
Amazing Venue Options for a Fall Wedding in Tahoe
Tahoe South’s newest indoor wedding space is The Lodge at Edgewood Tahoe, which offers an impressive 3,000-square-foot ballroom. Or choose between two event rooms inside Edgewood Tahoe‘s iconic clubhouse, lined with floor-to-ceiling windows to bring the outdoors in, as well as stone decks and a fire pit — perfect for keeping cozy and warm on a fall evening in Tahoe. If you’d like an outdoor ceremony for your fall wedding in Tahoe, they’ve got an expansive lakefront Event Lawn and Beach on site, as well.
Lake Tahoe Cruises & Zephyr Cove Resort
A standout option for a fall wedding in Tahoe is saying “I Do” aboard the MS Dixie II paddlewheeler. Lake Tahoe Cruises will take your guests on a relaxing cruise on Lake Tahoe, where you can hold your ceremony and reception, all while surrounded by the breathtaking lake and mountain landscapes. If you have trouble finding your sea legs, plan your wedding on dry land at Zephyr Cove Resort, where you can exchange vows on the beach in beautiful Zephyr Cove or in the rustic restaurant, in front of the fireplace. And you and your guests can stay on site in cozy cabins!
The Landing Lake Tahoe Resort & Spa
The Landing offers a Lakeview Ballroom with retractable glass walls for a true indoor/outdoor celebration, simply ideal for a fall wedding in Tahoe. They’ve also got the Grand Rooftop Terrace for up to 300 guests, as well as the heated outdoor event Pavilion, if you prefer to keep everything in the out of doors.
The Ridge Tahoe
A newly renovated space in Tahoe South is the Castle Rock Event Space at The Ridge Tahoe. With 3,700 square feet, it accommodates up to 180 wedding guests and offers loads of natural light and spectacular panoramic views. But just because The Ridge Tahoe is located at 7,500 feet doesn’t mean you can’t bring your fall wedding in Tahoe to lake level. If you’ve got your heart set on an outdoor shoreline ceremony, they’re happy to help you plan that, too.
Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel
If you’re looking for a versatile indoor/outdoor space for your fall wedding in Tahoe, check out the Tallac Ballroom at Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel. It has access to a lovely outdoor patio, and offers an abundance of natural light. Tallac can accommodate up to 80 guests with a dance floor and built-in bar — if you’re planning a larger wedding, look into their airy and spacious Atrium that accommodates up to 200 guests. You can also have an outdoor ceremony on one of their decks or patios, or ask about their customized beach ceremony packages.
Beach Retreat & Lodge at Tahoe
The Boathouse on the Pier is an intimate, one-of-a-kind wedding venue at Beach Retreat & Lodge that overlooks the lake. Alternatively, larger wedding parties can celebrate in the new Lakeview Ballroom, with its view of the crystal clear waters of Lake Tahoe and large glass doors that open onto an expansive outdoor deck. Beach Retreat & Lodge offers a perfect combination of lakefront indoor and outdoor spaces for a fall wedding in Tahoe.
Hard Rock Cafe Lake Tahoe
If you’re super worried about the weather or your guests being too chilly in the fall in Tahoe, you could opt for a really fun and offbeat venue only found at Hard Rock Cafe Lake Tahoe. Located inside Harvey’s Resort and Casino, there’s no end to the entertainment available before, during, and after your wedding.
